Privacy policy

NotAWide is a mobile app for scoring cricket ball by ball, with teams, match history, career statistics and earned badges. It is run by NotAWide, India. This page explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

• Your phone number, to sign you in. Sign-in uses Firebase Authentication, run by Google, which sends the one-time code by SMS.
• Your profile: the name you choose, your city if you give it, your playing details (how you bat and bowl), and a profile photo if you add one.
• Cricket data: the matches you score or play in, every ball recorded in them, scorecards, teams and the statistics and badges worked out from them.
• Contacts, only when you ask. If you choose “Add from contacts” on a team, the app reads your contacts on your phone so you can pick people. Your contact list is not uploaded. Each name you pick is looked up one at a time, and a number is sent only when you invite that person.
• Camera, only to read a NotAWide QR code. Nothing is photographed or stored.

What we do not do

• We do not show ads and do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
• We never show your phone number to other users.

Who can see what

Your profile, statistics and badges can be seen by other signed-in NotAWide users. A match can be seen by everyone, or only by the people in it, depending on how it was set up. In Settings you choose whether other people can find you by your name or by your number.

A link you share from the app (for example a scorecard or a player card) opens that page in the NotAWide app for the person you send it to. The link carries only an internal ID for that page, never a name or a phone number.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored with cloud service providers that process it only on our behalf, in data centres in India. Sign-in is handled by Google (Firebase Authentication). Data travels encrypted (HTTPS).

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Menu → Account → Delete account. Your profile, name, city, playing details, badges and career page are deleted. Scorecards of matches you played in stay, because a match belongs to everyone who played it, but your name on them is replaced with “Deleted player”. Children

NotAWide is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
